A Message from the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers

For the people gathering in New Orleans to honor 50 years of resistance and renewal in the Gulf

We, The International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth, all her inhabitants, all the children, and for the next seven generations to come. We are deeply concerned with the unprecedented destruction of our Mother Earth and the destruction of indigenous ways of life. We believe the teachings of our ancestors will light our way through an uncertain future. We look to further our vision through the realization of projects that protect our diverse cultures: lands, medicines, language and ceremonial ways of prayer and through projects that educate and nurture our children.

Our dear beautiful relatives,

We embrace and greet you with love in our hearts. We know that there are many people there, and we appreciate being able to bare witness from afar the process of a unified action, although it is now difficult at times, to see/hear their ignorance toward the sacredness of water and for the Mother Earth.  It is in OUR TRUTH that we all come together for the SACRED WATER.

We are certain we will see concrete results as our actions to forward our collective intent to UNIFY.

For there is specific work being done by the spiritual authorities to empower these elements, world wide, as a way to strengthen natural law in the collective consciousness, thereby giving the Time for Solutions. At the same token, this gathering gives what the elders are saying, which is, “WE all must actively participate in the decision making process that affects all life on the planet.”

With a profound sense of gratitude for the beautiful work all of you do, we send you our very best from the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers and we look forward to the fruition of our prayers being blessed very soon for there is much to share and much to do.

We look forward to continuing the efforts to carry the message of the elders of respect for the natural laws for all of LIFE.

We will see some holding their hearts and shedding tears as you come together over the Four Days of the Sacred Fire - this gives hope that there are those that are touched by the message.  Now, we must continue to work to create the ripple effect of the Water throughout the world to the ones who need to be awakened.

Although we cannot be with you, we are with you in spirit.  We send blessings to each of you and thank you for your support on this sacred mission and journey.

May We, ALL Be Blessed With Love & Peace with THE SACRED WATER

For this we PRAY.
