Healing with Horses

With strong living Traditional Knowledge experience, Chief Arvol Looking Horse chooses to live amidst hundreds of roaming wild horses in Green Grass, South Dakota on Cheyenne River Reservation. This location is also home to the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle which he has been tending to since he was twelve years old, passed to him by his Grandmother. He is now the 19th Generation Keeper. Chief Arvol Looking Horse’s traditional lifeways describe the connection to the horse as an inextricably woven mystery. The Healing with Horses program he created will lead to heal historical and personal trauma caused by colonization, genocide and years of cultural oppression. Through his experience, horses revive the spirit, passes on traditional knowledge, ignites purpose and a sense of responsibility while healing additions and all those are ready to heal.

Co-founder of Installation Media – Garet built groundbreaking platforms and interactive experiences for art institutions around the world, collaborating with The Getty, LACMA, MoMa, MOCA, The Barbican Centre, Tate, The Armory Show, Volta and the internationally regarded Southern California Institute of Architecture. As a producer, content creator, art director and multi-media specialist, he lead partnerships with BMW, Ruinart, Cadillac and Barney New York.
